Getting your voice heard: Interfaith and social media

impressive presentation Tim! I've yet to make a presentation using prezi, but you used it really well! Can you tell us more about the conversation from your presentation? i feel there was a small base of people within the movement that were making things happen using social media, like Project Interfaith in Nebraska; what were the kind of questions that were asked from your audience?

More than a few of them were on Twitter and using Youtube, which was good to see. I think that where my talking took us was the idea that we really can connect the disparate portions of the movement together with digital tools. They had curious questions about how individual things “worked” and how we could find each other out there. I had a nice handout called “How to Listen” that I'll probably append to this post.

In fact, I think I'll post the “Personal Digital Strategy” worksheets that I had them fill out, too. Good idea, Kara! There are people out there using these bits and bobs, but until we get everybody moving together like an interfaith school of fish, I think the movement will still look scattered.

Very well done Tim, great presentation. I agree with you 100%, right now the movement does look scattered. Once we have everyone together, they'll realize that they are not alone and that they're actually apart of something much bigger than they ever thought. Tim. Very cool use of Prezi. How does that work with a projector? Any good?

Prezis look just as crisp on a projector as they do on-screen. The smoothness of the “transitions”, i.e. zooming, is really what makes it hot.

When I gave this presentation last week, I actually had to wing the first 17 minutes without the Prezi! Go figure – technology presentation, technology fail. On the plus side, when I did unveil the beast, the crowd gasped. From the Q&A – “What did you make this presentation with?”

I am thinking of upgrading to the professional version and spending a week or two learning how to make it GREAT.

It does look amazing. I may ping you with questions.
